SIERRA TABS
Users know tabs from their web browser; with macOS Sierra they are now available as a system feature, and they also made it into Ulysses 2.7. Astro 1 135 – facebook messenger app. Tabs are a natural fit for Ulysses, as the ability to quickly switch between multiple open texts within the same window makes for an even more powerful writing tool.
IMAGES IN EXTERNAL FOLDERS, EVERNOTE IMPORT, READING TIME GOALS
Ulysses' new version now offers full support for the TextBundle format (http://textbundle.org) outside its iCloud library. TextBundle combines Markdown text files and referenced images in a single file, and users have long wanted Ulysses to properly support the new format. This addition allows them to use images when working from Dropbox or other storage providers.
Also, it is now easier than ever to switch from Evernote to Ulysses. Ulysses 2.7 allows to import ENEX files, Evernote's proprietary export format. Users can even import ENEX files containing multiple notes — Ulysses will then create a separate sheet for each imported note.
Writing goals allow Ulysses users to determine the length to achieve when writing a text: a number of characters, words, or pages. With Ulysses 2.7 the feature was extended: users can now even set a reading time goal.
Crawford asks Stephen to write something sharp for thepaper. Crawford recalls the great talent of Ignatius Gallaher, whoreported on the 1882 Phoenix Park murders(the British chief secretary and under-secretary were killed). Thisrecollection sparks many individual stories about the murders andthe Invincibles, the group who claimed responsibility. Some of themwere hanged, but others remain alive, such as Skin-the-Goat, a characterwho will appear later in Ulysses. Meanwhile, MacHughanswers the telephone. It is Bloom, but Crawford is too preoccupiedwith the conversation to speak with him.
O'Molloy tells Stephen that he and Professor Magenniswere speaking of Stephen. They are curious about Stephen's opinionof A.E., the mystical poet. Stephen resists the urge to ask whatMagennis said about him. MacHugh interrupts to describe the finestexample of eloquence—John F. Taylor's speech at the Trinity College historicalsociety debate over the revival of the Irish tongue. MacHugh re-enactsthe speech, which equated the British, who threaten to culturallyoverwhelm the Irish, to the Egyptians, who threaten to completelyassimilate the Jews.
Stephen suggests they adjourn to a pub, and Lenehan leadsthe way. O'Molloy holds Crawford behind to ask him for a loan. Stephenwalks outside with Professor MacHugh and tells MacHugh a crypticparable of two old virgins who go to the top of Nelson's pillarto see the views of Dublin and eat plums.

While Stephen tells his story, Crawford finally emergesoutside and Bloom, on his way in, attempts to accost him on thefront steps. Bloom wants approval for two month's renewal of theKeyes ad instead of three. Crawford turns this offer down flippantlyand returns to his conversation with O'Molloy. He cannot lend O'Molloyany money.

Ahead, Stephen's story continues: the women, giddy atthe top of the pillar, eat their plums and spit the seeds over theside. Stephen laughs—the story is apparently over, but the listenersare confused. Stephen names his story 'A Pisgah Sight of Palestine'or 'The Parable of the Plums.' MacHugh laughs knowingly.Meanwhile, the trams and other vehicles all across the city continueto roll.

Episode Seven, 'Aeolus,' is the first episode in whichthe text seems conscious of itself as a text. The newspaper-likeheadlines break up the otherwise-familiar text and suggest to thereader that an outside editor, author, or arranger is responsiblefor them. We are no longer involved in a one-on-one relation withthe plot of Ulysses—someone is filtering this informationfor us.
